DISMANTLING HISTORICAL HARDSCAPES
A short essay about how history can become a welcoming home to many who have found themselves erased and
eradicated from written histories and from historical disciplines. Leveraging the authors’ embodied connections to communities historically targeted for erasure, this article emphasizes the importance of engaging with the ongoing violence that predicates homemaking of any kind on stolen land.
