TRANSFORMING SPORT AND RECREATION
The following learning module and keynote take intersectional approaches to supporting practitioners to understand how interlocking systems of power influence their programs. The module, specifically, grew out of a three-year Re-Creation Collective project called "So what do we do now?", where we collaborated with a group of Canadian sport and recreation practitioners, policy-makers, and equity-advisors, to develop the learnings they wished they had available to their communities and organizations.
A Learning Module for System-Level Change
This free online module is for anyone interested in transforming sport, recreation, and other movement spaces by addressing the structural barriers that limit access, belonging, and participation. Intended to act as a catalyst for transformative change, the lessons offered throughout this module invite learners to experiment with new theories, practices, and possibilities as they critically engage with intersecting systems of power.

This module is intended as a tool to support the integration of knowledge for those who already have a foundational understanding of how systems of power simultaneously privilege some bodies while oppressing others. Learners who are new to these concepts may wish to seek out introductory resources before engaging with this material.
